Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal said that Zomato and its quick-commerce arm Blinkit achieved record-breaking delivery volumes on New Year’s Eve, with more than 75 lakh orders delivered by over 4.5 lakh partners, despite nationwide strike calls from gig workers demanding better pay and conditions. According to Goyal, operations remained largely unaffected by the protest, with deliveries completed at a “record pace” and without any extra incentives beyond usual year-end payouts, and support from local authorities helped keep disruptions minimal.
