As an unschooling mom i am often asked this "how does your child socialize? How does he make friends" ❓❓ 🌈This is such a relevant question, especially in today’s world where socializing is often equated with being in school or going on frequent playdates. ✨ First of all, I truly believe that children as young as 2, 3—even up to 5 or 6 years old—don’t need to socialize the way adults expect them to. At that age, most kids feel safest and happiest around their parents or those who live with them. And that’s completely okay. 🌈I honestly don’t know why there’s a societal pressure to “socialize” toddlers. True social readiness usually develops after the age of 5 or 6, and even then, it looks different for every child. 🌈To support natural social growth, we’ve enrolled him in a few extracurricular activities—like music, movement, and nature-based sessions—where he gets to meet other kids in organic, low-pressure settings. These spaces help build real connections, without forcing it. 🌈Also, I’ve seen firsthand that school isn’t the only place—or even always the best place—to make friends. Some kids feel overwhelmed in school, especially if they’re shy or introverted. I know children who were bullied or misunderstood, which pushed them deeper into their shell. So yes, exposure and friendships can happen beautifully outside of school too—in communities, interest-based activities, parks, nature walks, and most importantly, in their own time. 💛 Let’s not rush childhood. Let’s just support them, gently and mindfully. 🌱 👉 What has your experience been like with your child and socializing? Do you feel the pressure too? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments—let’s open up this conversation. 💬👇 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #ConsciousParenting #MindfulParenting #ParentingTips #MomLifeIndia #IndianMoms #UnschoolingIndia #GurukulamParenting #RaisingFreeChildren #ChildLedLiving #SlowChildhood #
