Set around NEON’s comeback era, this book pulls you into the polished chaos of idol life - perfect stages on the outside, pressure, rules, and emotional burnout underneath. And honestly? That contrast is where the story shines. You feel the exhaustion behind the perfection. 💔 Emery & Alana On paper, their story had SO much potential. • Emery dealing with family pressure • Alana carrying grief after her brother’s death But the romance? It just doesn’t land. It’s built on a brief past connection and leans heavily into insta-love. Even after they reunite, it never feels deep enough to justify how intense it’s supposed to be. Lowkey… they might’ve worked better as friends. 🎧 Alana’s Character We’re told she’s a talented songwriter - but we barely see it. Her passion feels more described than experienced, which makes it harder to connect with her journey (and understand Emery’s pull toward her). ✨ NEON (THE REAL STARS) The group completely stole the show. Their chemistry, humor, and bond felt natural and fun - easily the best part of the book. I wanted: • more group dynamics • more backstories • more chaos Even side characters like Stephanie and the manager had potential… but weren’t explored enough. 🌍 Worldbuilding = Missed Opportunity Despite being set in South Korea, the setting feels vague. The industry politics and darker sides of fame are hinted at - but never fully explored. 🖤 Final Thoughts This is an easy, enjoyable read with emotional moments and a fresh concept. But it holds back where it should’ve gone deeper - especially in romance, character depth, and worldbuilding.
