Don’t be sad because it’s over. Smile because we had the privilege of watching Luka Modrić play football. Football is cruel sometimes. It doesn’t always give legends the ending they deserve. Tonight, Croatia’s World Cup journey ended with a defeat to Portugal, and with it, we witnessed the final World Cup match of Luka Modrić. 💔🇭🇷 A boy who grew up in war-torn Croatia became the pride of an entire nation. A midfielder who wasn’t the fastest or the strongest, yet he controlled games like an artist controls his canvas.
