The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) will operate a total of 8,432 special bus services to transport passengers during the Sankranti 2026 festival season. Of the total special buses, 3,857 buses are scheduled to operate as pre-Sankranti specials, including 3,500 buses set to operate as intrastate services, while the remaining 367 buses will operate from the neighbouring cities of Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai to ferry passengers to AP. In addition, 4,574 buses will operate as post-Sankranti specials, which include 2,500 intrastate services and 2,075 interstate services that will operate to Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai to clear the post-festival rush in the state. According to APSRTC executive director (Operations) Appalaraju, of the total 8,432 special bus services planned for the Sankranti festival, a majority of buses— 6,000 bus services, totalling 71%, will operate within the state to ferry passengers using intrastate services, while the remaining 2,432 bus services, accounting for 29%, will operate as interstate services to ferry passengers to and from AP during the pre- and post-Sankranti festival period. #apsrtc #sankranti2026🌾🪁🎉❤️💫 #festival #royalcityvijayawada #vijayawadaupdates
