I still find it hard to accept compliments, maybe because somewhere deep inside, I carry the echoes of a little version of me who needed more love, reassurance, and gentle words but didn’t always receive them. Sometimes I think she’s still there, waiting, wondering why the world felt so quiet when she needed to be seen. And even now, when kindness comes my way, there’s a part of me that doesn’t quite know what to do with it. So when my brother fished out the old pictures of us… me, Instead of feeling upset, it gave me a strange happiness. I’m grateful, for where I am, for what I have, for who I’ve become.
