I’ve been connected to street dogs since my childhood drawn to them in a way I can’t explain. COOKIE was born in my garden, and over the years, he became a part of my life in his own unique way. Never fully a pet, never completely a street dog he chose his own path, and I simply loved him for who he was. He came and went as he wished, but there was always a silent understanding between us. And in that space, he found his best friend my MARIO ( My angel Mario is in heaven now) My heart, my soul, my child. What they shared was beyond companionship… it was a deep, soulful connection. The way they protected, loved, and gave each other space it was pure and rare. Even today, distance hasn’t changed that connection. Care, love, and responsibility don’t end just because I am far away… they stay with you. My friend has also been one of the partners to nurture and protect COOKIE and I always am grateful for that part. I still hope that there would be kind souls to take care of COOKIE and I will always take care of him no matter wherever I am. Summers can be harsh for them. If you can, offer a little shade, a bowl of water, and some food. Small acts of kindness go a long way. Be human. Be kind.
