Have you or your child ever experienced something like this in school? This is not about blaming teachers. It’s about awareness. Because children are still learning how to express, but adults already know how to respond. Let’s not just ask “What did the child do?” Let’s also ask “What did the child feel?” Not every “misbehaving child” is a bad child… sometimes, it’s a hurt child. As a mother, I’ve realized something very important whenever we hear complaints in PTMs, our first instinct is to correct the child. But how often do we pause and ask… what happened before that behavior? Children are not always able to explain their emotions. They don’t always have the words to say, “I felt insulted,” “I felt ignored,” or “I felt small.” And sometimes, without even realizing, adults especially teachers can shape that feeling. One harsh word can create self-doubt. One label can build an inferiority complex. But one kind teacher… can build a child’s entire confidence.
