Holi in Rakcham and Chitkul felt very different from the Holi I’ve grown up seeing in Delhi. Everything here felt slower, calmer, and more connected to the people and the place. I celebrated Holi with the locals at a Shiv temple in Rakcham. We played with colours, laughed together, and it felt less like a festival for a moment and more like being part of their community. What really stayed with me was their warmth. After playing Holi, they asked me to sit with them and offered chai and pakoras. Such a simple gesture, but it meant a lot. In a place where I was just a visitor, they treated me like one of their own. These are the moments where you realise how traditions truly live through people. Festivals like this are part of our Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), where culture is not just celebrated but shared. Grateful to witness and experience this during The Great Himalayan Exploration by Royal Enfield, a social mission that documents and celebrates these beautiful Himalayan traditions. Experiences like these are what make the mountains so special. #rakchham #holiehimachal #himachalpradesh❤️ #sangla #createwithsony
