To the Girl I Was and the Woman I Am ❤️😄 Growing up, my birthday was a given. It was a day of joy, belonging, and celebration. But the moment I stepped into marriage, that changed. I left behind my home, my parents, and even my last name- and somewhere in that transition, my “special day” became just another date on the calendar. For years, I waited. I watched others be pampered with gifts and surprises, quietly hoping that one day it would be my turn to feel that level of care. It took sixteen years for that day to finally arrive. As women, we sacrifice so much of our identity to build lives for others. We give our time, our energy, and our very names to our families. Is it really too much to ask for one day where the world stops for us? To every woman reading this: Please, celebrate yourself. Whether it is big or small, do not let your birthday pass in silence. You deserve to be celebrated not just for what you do for others, but simply because you were born. We give our entire lives away; we shouldn’t have to give away our happiness, too. It took me a long time to get here, but I finally realized: my joy is not a luxury. It is a necessity❤️
