So we’re almost 8.5 and this is a preteen age where a lot of negotiations keep happening, a lot of arguments happen, so one such topic was what would she wear, she became very particular about what she wants to wear and would wear only what she was comfortable on a repeat mode. She wouldn’t wear what I would take out for her and there were times I would just get pissed off because of she not choosing the apt outfit for the occasion. Once when we were going somewhere she insisted on wearing a particular top which again I didn’t find apt but I let her do it, I told her ok wear whatever you feel like, and then she tried it out and realised it wasn’t looking good !! She then told me Mumma it’s sensible to listen to whatever you tell 🤣 Another thing that I did what”declutter” made her remove clothes that she didn’t like to wear ! This helped as we had only clothes of her choice. And the last thing, asked her to choose her own outfits when we went shopping, she picked, she tried and chose. If something wasn’t looking good we made her understand why wasn’t it a perfect buy !! So yeah now we’ve kind of come on better alternatives and conclusions without any arguments 😃 How do you deal with your pre teen daughter ? And all of this also makes me think on how is the teen phase going to go 🙈🙈🙈🙈
