🌟What is the Day of Arafah? It falls on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah, the day before Eid al-Adha. It is the pinnacle of the Hajj pilgrimage. The day is named after Mount Arafat (also known as Jabal al-Rahmah or Mount of Mercy), where Prophet Muhammad ﷺ delivered his Farewell Sermon. 🌟For Non-Pilgrims (Muslims worldwide): 1. Fasting on the Day of Arafah Highly recommended Sunnah. Expiates sins of the previous year and the year to come. “It expiates the sins of the year before and the year after.” (– Sahih Muslim 1162) 2. Day of Forgiveness and Duas It’s the best day to make du'a. “The best du'a is the du'a of Arafah.” (– Tirmidhi) 🌟For Pilgrims (Performing Hajj): Standing on the plain of Arafat (known as Wuquf) from noon to sunset is the core ritual of Hajj. Missing this standing invalidates the Hajj. Pilgrims pray, reflect, and ask for forgiveness — it’s the day of mercy and acceptance. 🌟Day of Allah’s Mercy Allah descends to the lowest heaven and boasts to the angels about His servants. “There is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of Arafah.” (– Muslim) ✨ Other Important Facts: It's one of the 10 best days of Dhul-Hijjah. The Shahadah (testimony of faith) was perfected on this day: Prophet Muhammad ﷺ Delivered His Farewell Sermon "This day I have perfected your religion for you..." (Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:3) Acts like charity, dhikr, tahleel (saying La ilaha illallah) are greatly rewarded.
