Zanskar, Zahar or Zangskar….a tehsil of the Kargil district. Famous for its landscape and high mountains and not to forget the famous Chadar trek which starts from here….right where I am standing . What you see behind me is the frozen Zanskar river or the Chadar which has now started melting. The Chadar Trek or the Zanskar Gorge trek is a winter trail over this frozen Zanskar River and is almost 9-10 days long trek covering almost 8-10 kilometres per day. This was my third time to Zanskar and first to the Chadar which I got to experience only because of @granddragonladakh . The team organised a small picnic for us right on the frozen Chadar and it was one experience we will forever cherish.
