
SPICY PRAWNS MASALA RECIPE . . Ingredients For the curry paste 1-2 tbsp oil 1 onion chopped 1 tomato chopped 1 tsp ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp shredded coconut 1/2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder 1/2 tsp coriander powder 1/4 tsp garam masala 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 1/2 cup water Salt (as per taste) For the main curry 1/2-1tbsp oil 1/4 tsp cumin seeds 1-2 split/chopped green chillis 2 garlic cloves chopped 6-8 curry leaves Curry paste (as prepared above) 250g prawns 1/2-1 cup water Method For the curry paste 1. Heat the oil, and cook the chopped onion until tender. 2. Add the ginger garlic paste. Cook until raw smell disappears. 3. Add tomatoes, salt (as per taste) & turmeric. Cook until tomatoes turn soft & mushy. 4. Add all masalas & the shredded coconut. Roast the masala well for a few minutes. 5. Cool the mixture and blend it into a smooth paste using 1/2 cup water. For the main curry 1. Heat the oil, add cumin, garlic & green chillis. Roast it for a 1-2 mins. 2. Add curry leaves and saute for 1 minute. 3. Add the curry paste & 1/2 cup water (or as required) 4. Bring the mixture to a simmer. Adjust salt as needed. 5. Add the prawns and cook until done. 6. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve. Feedback- The toasted masala & coconut gives a fabulous flavour to your curry. I personally love it with chapati, but goes well with rice too.
