
Lately, I’ve been learning a new kind of self love. How to parent myself? Gently. Some days, I sit with the mess in my head and say, “You’re not failing. You’re just tired.” the purpose is to get back to myself on days I am drained. I would help my inner child like I would to my biological. I eat the ice cream. I say kind things to myself I wish I heard sooner. I ask what would a loving parent do? Cook something warm. Offer a hug. Hold space. That’s what I’m learning to do for me. Not every day. But enough to feel like I’m coming home to myself. Maybe in between all the work, it is helping me feel really good! I hope on days you look for your parent, its good to become your own!
