Yana Caves are located in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, within the lush forests of the Western Ghats. They are about 30 km from Kumta and 48 kms from Gokarna, accessible via a short trek through dense forest. According to legend, the demon Bhasmasura obtained a boon from Lord Shiva but later tried to use it against him. Lord Vishnu, in the form of Mohini, tricked Bhasmasura into placing his hand on his own head, turning him to ashes. The black rock formations and names of the peaks are believed to be linked to this story🔱 There are two cave formations-Bhairaveshwara Shikahara and Mohini Shikahara. At the base of Bhairaveshwara Shikhara is a cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva with a self-manifested (Swayambhu) Shiva Lingam✨ Save this reel for your next trip to Gokarna and Karnataka 😍 Drone footage by @jimtravelstheworld #yanacaves #gokarnaplacestovisit #kumta #travelkarnataka unrealplace
