One day you’re getting them ready for their first day of school… and the next thing you know, they’re walking into Grade 2 and Grade 4. A new term begins today. New classrooms. New teachers. New notebooks with crisp pages waiting to be filled. And I’m standing here wondering the same thing every parent does — how does time fly this fast? It feels like just yesterday I was waiting outside the school gate, wondering if they would be okay without me. Today they walk in with confidence, chatting with friends, carrying their own bags, ready for the world. Every school year they grow a little taller, a little wiser, a little more independent. And every year I realise that childhood quietly moves forward… even when we wish it would slow down. Motherhood is strange like that — the days feel long, but the years disappear in the blink of an eye. One little ritual we have is clicking a picture with this board every first day of school.Looking back at these photos reminds me just how much they change and grow with every passing year. Grade 2.
