Authentic Thai food in Indiranagar without the flight. Didn’t know this Michelin Bib Gourmand–recognised gem existed either. Walking into Baan Padthai felt like stepping into a cozy Bangkok shophouse — bright, buzzing, filled with Thai art, that intimate 30-seater vibe where everyone’s slurping noodles like they mean it. It’s authentic Thai dining done right. We started with smoky chicken satay and creamy peanut sauce, crispy spring rolls with a spicy kick, and a crab omelette with tom yum brightness that hit different. The star? Prawn Padthai with their secret 18-ingredient sauce — noodles balancing sweet, sour, salty and umami in every bite, loaded with texture. The lamb Massaman was slow-cooked and comforting, the prawn curry creamy and coconutty perfection. Desserts were dangerous. Pandan toast with smoked coconut ice cream (toasty, fragrant, addictive) and the coconut ice cream with pandan rice crisps were chef’s kiss. This is Baan Padthai — the Bangkok legend bringing the “house of Pad Thai” to Indiranagar.
