Dark fantasy superhero film, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has grabbed a whole lot of attention lately. The movie was made only on a budget of Rs. 30 crore but has grossed Rs. 303.26 crore at the global box office, marking a successful theatrical run. The film was dropped on the OTT platform, Jio Hotstar, on October 20, 2025, and the excitement about the same has since been ignited, given the fact that it has reached a wider audience. For the unversed, earlier, it was confirmed that Chapter 2 will be there as the Lokah universe is being planned to be made as a five-film franchise. Amid this, let’s have a look at what Chapter 2 will unfold. Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is the story of ‘Chandra’, a woman from Kerala, who suddenly felt changes surrounding her, only to realise later that she’s connected, or somewhat even the modern form of the powerful female spirit of Kerala folklore, ‘Kalliyankattu Neeli’. The movie also shows the antagonist, ‘Nachiyappa’, who undergoes a transformation to become ‘Yaksha’, a male supernatural being of Kerala folklore. His complex mindset is shown opposite the light and strength of ‘Chandra’, thereby creating a clash. As the movie ended, ‘Chandra’, accepting herself to be ‘Neeli’, and ending up in a larger universe, it’s making sure of the fact that the ending is open, and thus the upcoming chapters will surely continue to flourish eventually. In the end credit sequence of Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, we could witness Tovino Thomas, who was conversing with another character, while talking about a group of archaeologists who vanished inside a cave. As he was provided with a photo of ‘Chaathan’ (goblins), he replied that it could be him or one of his 389 siblings, thereby ending the scene there, with a thriller that the goblins are coming.
