Ice bath is said for have amazing recovery effects for athletes reducing muscle soreness and inflammation, speeding up recovery after intense exercise, boosting mood by increasing dopamine, improving mental resilience to stress but is it suitable for women? Woman’s hormones (especially cortisol) is triggered while taking ice baths (if done wrong and taken when not necessary) also your body and mind needs to be ready to take such extreme temperatures on your body and it’s not totally ideal for a woman experiencing hormonal changes, to take ice baths often. If you are planning to take ice bath for recovery or any other reasons- make sure you’re not doing it around your menstrual cycle, keep the temperature in mind, take shorter ice baths and do it only if it’s necessary for recovery & IF YOU MOVE YOUR BODY OFTEN IN WAYS THAT REQUIRES ICE BATHS FOR RECOVERY 🙌
