I have been there too🙄🙈 We buy a good serum, but don’t see results because of application mistakes. 1️⃣ Skipping skin prep If you apply serum on completely dry skin, especially after cleansing, your skin’s barrier is tight & less receptive. Serums work best when applied to slightly damp skin — it helps the serums penetrate better. 💌 Solution: After cleansing, lightly mist your face with water or mist, then apply your serum. 2️⃣ Not layering correctly Serums should be applied before moisturiser. If you put moisturiser first, it can block the serum from absorbing. 💌 Solution: Follow the “thin to thick” rule — toner → serum → moisturiser → sunscreen (AM). 3️⃣ Using too much or too little Overloading your skin can cause irritation, while using too little won’t deliver results. 💌 Solution: 2–3 drops are usually enough for the whole face. 4️⃣ Expecting overnight miracles Skin cell turnover takes time (even longer as we age). You won’t see changes in a week. 💌 Solution: Be consistent for at least 6–8 weeks to see visible improvement. 5️⃣ Mixing incompatible actives Some actives cancel each other out or cause irritation if used together. Example: Vitamin C + Retinol in the same routine can be too harsh. 💌 Solution: Research or patch test before combining actives, or alternate them on different days. ALWAYS seal your serum in with a good moisturiser — it locks in hydration & protects your skin barrier🦋 [skincare, serums, mindset & lifestyle influencer, fashion & beauty influencer]
