Try neighbourhoods like: Le Marais, Montmartre, Saint-Germain, and Canal Saint-Martin. 2. There’s a FREE side to Paris ✅On the first Sunday of every month, many museums don’t charge an entry fee. Book your slot early and enjoy world-class art for free. Eg: Musée d’Orsay, Musée de l’Orangerie, Centre Pompidou, and others. The LOUVRE is free for everyone on the first Sunday in the off-peak season (typically October–March) 3. Eat simple, eat LOCAL ✅A fresh baguette, some cheese, and a seat by the Seine beat crowded restaurants any day. Setting up a PICNIC by the Seine River or in a park like Luxembourg Gardens is a classic Parisian way to eat. 4. Timing changes everything ✅Visit the Eiffel Tower just before sunset. Day views, golden skies, and sparkling lights, all in one visit. 5. The METRO saves more than money ✅ Paris’s Metro + RER is fast, reliable, and cheaper than taxis/Uber. A weekly pass is easier and cheaper than daily tickets. 6. Stay outside the tourist core ✅ We stayed at the Nation. I found it to be the best location as it was connected to the metro and RER both. Don’t eat near major attractions ✅ Restaurants right next to the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, or Notre Dame are usually overpriced and underwhelming. Walk 2–3 streets away, and quality jumps instantly. 8. Café etiquette matters ✅ You don’t get seated instantly everywhere. Wait to be acknowledged, don’t rush, and know this: standing at the bar is cheaper than sitting at a table. 9. Views don’t always need tickets ✅ For city views, skip expensive rooftops sometimes. Montmartre steps, Pont Alexandre III, Galeries Lafayette rooftop offer stunning views for free. 10.
