Things You Need to Know Before Planning a Trip to Georgia 🇬🇪 Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia and the arrival city if you’re flying from India. 1. Visa: The easiest way is to apply for an e-Visa online. It costs around ₹5,000 and usually arrives within 7–10 working days. If you hold an active US visa, you get visa-free entry. 2. Currency: You can use USD, Euros, or Georgian Lari (GEL). Cards—credit or travel—are widely accepted, so carry minimal cash. 3. Network & SIM: Jio doesn’t work in Georgia yet. Airtel and Vodafone do. Buy a local SIM at the airport or in Old Town Tbilisi. Unlimited data costs around ₹800. 4. Airport to City: Take the airport bus to reach Freedom Square (Old Town Tbilisi). 5. Vegetarian Food: Plenty of options! Try their staples like Khachapuri, Lobiani, and Nigvziani Badrijani. 6. Vibes: Expect wine, cafés, and great coffee—Georgia is all about that ♥️ 7. Best Time to Visit: • June–September: Summer/Spring • November–February: Fall/Winter 8. Language: English isn’t widely spoken. Most people speak Georgian or Russian, so keep a translator app handy. 9. Kazbegi Tip: Don’t do Kazbegi as a day trip—stay at least one night. The experience is worth it. ( I will share separate post for kazbegi) 10. Driving: To rent a car, you’ll need an International Driving Permit. Indian driving licences aren’t accepted. 11. Tours: Book your sightseeing tours on @klookindia Use code Gulabo06 for a discount. 12. Shopping for Essentials: Buy snacks, coffee, etc., from Spar or Magniti. Local corner shops may overcharge. 13. Water: Tap water is safe to drink. 14. Transport: Use Bolt or GoTrip for local commuting. It’s their version of Uber/Ola and usually cheaper. 15. Stay: For accommodation, I recommend thebrossegarden it’s good and reasonably priced. 16. Currency Exchange: Always compare rates at multiple banks before exchanging your money. That’s everything I can think of for now. If you have more questions, drop them in the comments ♥️ #indianbloggers #indiantravelblogger #indiancontentcreator #georgia #tblisi
