So many times, people offer kids a phone or junk food just to get a hug, or a little attention. They think a treat or a screen will make the child come to them more easily. But that’s not what she signed up for as a mother. She didn’t become a parent to see her child being bribed into showing affection. Yes, it might work in the moment — a quick smile, a little cuddle — but what’s the lesson behind it? That love is something to be bought? That affection comes in exchange for a reward? She believes that love, connection, and comfort should bring a child close — not chips, chocolates, or screens. And if she’s set certain boundaries — like no junk or limited screen time — the people around her should respect that. Because parenting isn’t about being agreeable to everyone — it’s about standing firm for what’s best for the child. Bribing might win moments. But love builds bonds. She wants her child to feel seen, heard, and truly loved — not lured in by distractions.
