Through the dust of a thousand miles, Across the scorching plains of Tanjore, She walked with a heart of burning coals, Seeking the stone that breathes. The Vimanam rises like a golden mountain, A shadowless giant against the burning sky, But her eyes see only the granite threshold, Where the scent of camphor meets the wind. Inside the womb of the Brihadisvara, Beneath the gaze of the monolith Nandi, The air thickens with the chant of ancient hymns. She stands before the massive Lingam, A speck of dust before the Infinite. The tears that fall are not of weariness, But of a wish finally exhaled into the void. In this sacred silence, the world dissolves; There is no road left to walk, No hunger left to feed. She has found the center of the wheel— The Great Dancer, the Silent Lord.
