I just finished Days at the Morisaki Bookshop and I genuinely don’t know how to explain what I’m feeling after reading it. Nothing dramatic really “happens” in the book, and maybe that’s what made it so special. It felt like quietly living someone else’s everyday life for a while. A very simple story, but filled with emotions, loneliness, comfort, healing, and human connection. It made me feel like happiness can exist in small circles, small routines, small people. Sometimes just changing your environment, walking into a different space, or meeting a different set of people can slowly change your life. The characters felt so real in their awkwardness. People not saying what they truly feel, people carrying emotions silently — it all felt strangely familiar. I finished it in a day and one night, and honestly, I just wanted to keep reading more of their lives. Maybe this is my first Japanese fiction read talking, but this book felt soft, quiet, and beautiful in a way I cannot fully express. #DaysAtTheMorisakiBookshop #JapaneseFiction #Bookstagram #CurrentlyReading #BookReview
