Batu Caves are a series of limestone caves and a Hindu pilgrimage site in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia, located just north of Kuala Lumpur. The complex is famous for the towering golden statue of the deity Murugan at its entrance and the 272-step rainbow staircase leading to the main cave temple. It is also the focal point for the vibrant annual Hindu festival of Thaipusam.
