Buying or selling your flat in Uttar Pradesh? This one deserves a save. UP RERA has capped builder transfer processing charges after complaints that some promoters were demanding heavy amounts for flat transfers. The order adds a cap under Regulation 47(c) for such transfer processing fees. For family transfer or legal heir transfer, the maximum builder charge is ₹1,000. For third party transfer, the maximum builder charge is ₹25,000. The rule is effective from March 25, 2026, and UP RERA has also enabled online complaints for illegal transfer charges through its portal.
