Aaj Mumbai mein mujhe 12 years ho gaye… The longest relationship I’ve ever had with anything or anyone, apart from my parents and family. Aur sach bataun… I’m endlessly grateful. Grateful to the universe that Mumbai ne mujhe har baar choose kiya — consistently, without fail. Because this city doesn’t do maybes — it either accepts you or rejects you. So today, as I complete 12 years in the City of Dreams, yeh 12 filmy si cheezein hain jo Mumbai ne mujhe sikhayi: 1. Moving away from home is the first scene of every hero’s journey — that’s where strength begins. 2. In Mumbai, just surviving is a montage moment… and thriving feels like a climax victory. 3. You outgrow your old life so you can enter your next chapter with a stronger script. 4. Heartbreaks here don’t end your story — they give you a better character arc. 5. Chahe khane ke paise ho ya na ho, vada pav fills your stomach… and your dreams fill your heart, full Bollywood style. 6. Distance from home teaches you how priceless your roots are. 7. Resilience is Mumbai’s background music — trains may stop, par log kabhi nahi rukte. 8. You learn you are your own constant; self-love becomes your biggest superpower. 9. You’re braver than you think — this city tests you, toughens you, and then applauds you. 10. Some people stay, some walk out, but every character leaves behind a lesson. 11. Independence grows on you — slowly, messily, beautifully, like a perfect cinematic transformation. 12.
