I lost my son to cancer, and some days it still feels unreal, like my heart is learning how to beat all over again. This journey wasn’t planned as a celebration—it was a pause, a quiet promise to myself to keep living. I’m traveling alone, yet I don’t feel lonely. Everywhere I go, I see couples walking hand in hand with their partners, pets running freely beside the people who love them, laughter echoing in streets I don’t belong to—yet somehow, I do. These moments hurt, but they also heal. They remind me that love doesn’t disappear; it only changes form. This trip is about choosing the present moment. About standing still, feeling the air, and letting myself exist without guilt. I’m carrying grief with grace, memories with strength, and hope—slowly, gently—back into my life. I’m here.
