A brave Queen’s last stand – Rani Laxmibai Memorial - History bows to her courage here. In June 1858, Rani Laxmibai fought the British forces here. Leading from the front… sword in hand… refusing to surrender. She went down fighting for our country… becoming a symbol of defiance and sacrifice. At her final resting point… stands a simple tomb… with inscriptions honoring her sacrifice. Beside it… a lamp that burns all year round….Shaheed Jyoti… a symbol of her undying spirit.
