Most countries don’t rebuild first after a wars They market themselves first We’re all watching what’s happening bw Israel-Iran-USA right now, but one thing my marketing brain keeps noticing is what usually happens after conflict ends. Countries start by rebuilding perception. Sri Lanka did it after 2009. Tourism campaigns, global ads, airline partnerships. It became one of their biggest revenue drivers. Lebanon followed a similar approach. Luxury tourism, nightlife, positioning a “new era.” This pattern shows up often. Marketing becomes the first visible signal of recovery. It makes sense. You can’t bring people back unless they feel safe. You can’t restart the economy without changing how the world sees you. But there’s a difference between attention and trust. Tourists come back faster. Investors take longer. Short-term perception can be rebuilt quickly. Long-term confidence takes time. That’s where marketing meets its limit.
