June 2018: The moment I discovered T.M. Krishna. For someone who had never connected with any form of music—despite having many musician friends and even managing music shows—his artistry was different. It was something unexplainable that moved me deeply. His music became my refuge; I listened to it 4-5 hours a day at work, while commuting, almost always. I made everyone I know listen to it. It became a companion that helped me navigate tough moments. He has helped me question my beliefs, acknowledge my privilege, read better, form better opinions, be humble, see the big picture, and so much more. Attending his concerts, traveling for his music, and immersing myself in the art form have since become rituals. This journey has made me a better person in ways I never imagined. Watching you receive the Sangita Kalanidhi made my day, made my year. Congratulations @tmkrishnaofficial on receiving the greatest honor in Carnatic music. Thank you for being more than an artist; thank you for being a guide to better living.
