We finally said goodbye to the baby bottle. Here’s what actually worked for us. 🤍 Step 1: Watch for signs that your toddler is ready. For us, it started when he became interested in drinking water and other drinks from a glass. That’s when I knew it was the right time to make the switch. Step 2: Put the bottles away—completely. I know many parents wean one bottle at a time, but that didn’t work for us. If I gave him bottle at night, he’d throw tantrums during the day, because he thinks that’s an option. So I packed every bottle away and simply told him, “The bottles are all gone. Now we drink from this cup.” Once the bottle was no longer an option, he adjusted much faster than I expected. This step is much harder for parents. But you need to stay strong on your decision and not give them the bottle thinking it’s just for “one day”. Step 3: Choose the right cup. A transparent straw cup made a huge difference. He could still see what he was drinking, which made the transition feel familiar, and drinking through a straw was much easier than switching straight to an open cup. Step 4: Make bedtime about connection, not the bottle. We added stories, cuddles, and little games while he drank his milk. It helped take the focus off the missing bottle and made bedtime feel comforting. Note: Every child is different, and what worked for us may not work for everyone. There’s no perfect age to stop the bottle. Watch for your child’s cues, go at their pace, and don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s. Save this for when you’re ready to start bottle weaning. 🤍 #babybottle #weening #toddlermomlife #momhack #relatablemom Indian mom, bottle weening, toddler problems, two year old, mom blogger, milk bottle
