Before calling it superstition ❌, sometimes it’s worth asking — what problem was this belief trying to solve? This is why our elders avoided black cars in olden days: 1️⃣ Night visibility issue 🌙 Earlier, roads didn’t have proper street lights. Black vehicles were harder to notice at night, especially on highways or village roads which could increase accident risk. 2️⃣ Indian heat is no joke 🥵 Black colour absorbs more heat. In peak summer, black cars heat up faster and AC also has to work harder. In old cars (with weaker AC), this was a big problem. 3️⃣ Maintenance struggle 👨🏻🔧 Black cars show dust, scratches and water spots very easily. In dusty Indian conditions, cars used to look dirty very fast. 4️⃣ Resale + practicality thinking 💰 Earlier, people preferred “safe colours” like white or silver because they stayed cooler and looked cleaner for longer. With time these practical habits slowly turned into traditions… and then into beliefs. 😌 Ironically, Black cars are considered to be luxurious and powerful by politicians and celebrities while some middle class families still avoid it. #blackcars #newcarday #indianthings #reelsi̇ndia #superstitions
