Kahi Naas(Dance) (কাঁহী নাচ) is a traditional folk dance form of Assam, deeply rooted in the cultural celebrations of Bohag Bihu 🌼 The word ‘Kahi’ refers to bell-metal plates, which are used as rhythmic props in the performance. Unlike the high-energy movements of Bihu dance, Kahi Naas focuses more on controlled, graceful expressions combined with synchronized hand movements and gentle footwork. The dance is usually performed in groups, especially by women, and reflects the joy, harmony, and festive spirit of Assamese culture. The rhythmic sound created by striking the kahi adds a unique musical layer to the performance, making it both visually and aurally captivating. Traditionally, this dance is accompanied by specific Bihu instruments like the dhol, pepa, and taal, with a distinct rhythmic pattern (often referred to as dhulor saapor) that sets the authentic tone of the performance. ✨ Note: The music used in this video is a random Bihu song and not the authentic rhythm required for Kahi Naas. Traditionally, a specific dhol-based (dhulor saapor) beat is used for this dance. #KahiNaas #AssameseCulture BohagBihu #FolkDanceIndia #AssamTradition NortheastIndia IndianFolkDance CulturalRoots BihuVibes ExploreAssam EthnicAesthetic #barashachetia
