#Kashmir #Zojilapass. The old Zojila Pass is not expected to close forever for tourists once the Zojila Tunnel becomes fully operational. While the tunnel will replace the dangerous mountain pass as the main route for year-round travel between Kashmir and Ladakh, the old pass route itself is still expected to remain accessible to tourists during the summer months for adventure driving, sightseeing, and tourism. The new 13.5-km Zojila Tunnel had its final breakthrough in June 2026, and once it fully opens to traffic (expected around 2028), it will reduce travel time from 90 minutes over the pass to just 15 minutes through the tunnel.
