Life is full of surprises, and mine came in the form of an invitation to conduct a workshop at IIT Delhi. Yes, the very IIT Delhi that churns out tech wizards and rocket scientists, decided to open its hallowed doors to me, someone whose name has ‘Sketchy’ in it! And not for a crash course in coding or quantum physics, but for a session on satire using cartoons at their prestigious LITERATI Fest 2025. Walking into that lush, sprawling campus with a bag full of Sketchy Postcards and my trusty markers, I couldn’t help but think, others might carry their JEE ranks and resumes as badges of honor, I had cartoons. The workshop was nothing short of electrifying. The participants were as enthusiastic as they were sharp, ready to poke fun at the world and themselves. Together, we sketched life’s ironies, laughed at exaggerated truths, and agreed that a one page visual is better than a 20 page book! It was amazing to see how quickly they embraced the idea that humor and art can spark deep conversations. By the end of the session, the tables were full of doodles, sketches, and enough punchlines to rival a comedy club. And, of course, everyone left with Sketchy Postcards, which, I assured them, would make them look more intellectual when pinned on their hostel boards. As I bid goodbye to the campus, I reflected on how the day was a mix of contrasts. I may not have spent sleepless nights cracking JEE equations, but I spent a glorious day cracking jokes with the brightest minds of the country. IIT Delhi’s Literati Fest wasn’t just a workshop for me—it was proof that creativity truly has no boundaries, neither academic nor artistic.
