Here’s what actually happened 👇 1️⃣ Food was very generic One thing we were excited about was authentic Kerala cuisine on the boat. But the food was generic and not the traditional Kerala dishes people expect 2️⃣ ₹15,000 for 1 night is a questionable value We paid around ₹15,000 which is actually a pretty standard price for a private deluxe boat with meals included. For that price, I feel the experience doesn’t really match the cost. 3️⃣ The backwaters were crowded During the day we saw dozens of houseboats moving on the same stretch. The popular routes can feel more like boat traffic than a calm nature experience 4️⃣ AC works only after 9 PM This is something most people don’t know before booking. In many houseboats, AC works from 9 PM to 6 AM. During the afternoon and evening, the boat can get very hot and humid. If you want full-time AC, you usually need to book premium or luxury boats 5️⃣ The boat stops moving in the evening Houseboats stop cruising around 5:30–6 PM and remain parked overnight because of government regulations. The place where it’s docked, it’s where all boats are docked. 6️⃣ The best part (narrow canal ride) was an extra charge The shikara/narrow canal boat ride, the part that actually shows you real Kerala village life is charged per person, on the spot 💢 I sell beautiful travel fridge magnet @wander.tag 💢 For better alternatives comment with a ♥️ #travelinfluencerindia #travelbloggerindia #ugccontentcreator #travelcreatorindia #indiantravelinfluencer
