I still remember picking up a camera for the very first time in 2020. Back then, it was just a hobby. I was so clueless that I couldn’t even think of what to write under my pictures. I used to sit next to my Dad, and he would write my captions just so I could share my work. He believed in my small beginnings before I even knew what a career looked like. Cut to five years later. A year ago, I was standing on the massive factory floors of Bhadohi (UP) , directing a documentary for the biggest carpet manufacturer in the city. Watching centuries of tradition unfold through my lens, tears almost hit my eyes. I looked down at the camera and realized this wasn’t just a hobby anymore , it was my life. It took five long years of sleepless nights, self-doubt, and quiet sacrifices to bridge that gap. If I could go back to 2020, I’d hug that kid asking his dad for caption ideas and say: “Don’t put the camera down. You are going to make yourself so proud.” This video is the biggest project I’ve ever shot, but to me, it’s proof of a five year journey. I am deeply grateful to this craft, and to my Dad, who wrote the words for a dream he knew I would eventually build. We are just getting started. ❤️
