Document every result you achieve at work. Year 1- 1.5 = Update resume with quantified wins (“reduced report TAT by 2 days”). Apply to mid-size firms, Big 4 support roles, KPOs. Target roles: analyst, associate, junior executive. Year 2-3 = Pick a niche: FP&A, equity research, audit, credit, HR ops, supply chain. Get a domain-specific cert (CFA, ACCA, CMA). Build a portfolio or LinkedIn presence. Apply to MNCs, larger firms. Year 3-5 = Target senior analyst / team lead / AM level roles. Leverage LinkedIn + referrals. Consider MBA (if 9–12 LPA isn’t happening without it). Switch only with clear role upgrade, not just salary. Year 5+ = Target senior manager / VP / director level. Focus on industry impact, team size managed, P&L ownership. Consider lateral moves to higher-paying industries (BFSI, consulting, tech-adjacent).
