I have always been someone who feels deeply. Every room, every person, every silence tells me something. For years I overrode that inner voice with logic and kindness and my father’s gentle wisdom that there is good in everyone. He was right. But what I had to learn on my own, and the hard way, was that seeing the good in people and protecting yourself are two very different things. Loss taught me that. Grief sharpened me.
