These lovely, colorful parakeet are often used in circus, events and entertainment shows. They are also sold as exotic birds in many parts of the world. This led to endangering this beautiful specie and their number dropped to a few thousands. So a few birds were brought to Bali Bird Park where they are given a natural environment to thrive in. They are well fed, well groomed and live happily in the alloted space. They are free in captivity! This captivity is better than freedom which is the cause of their death in massive numbers. Bali Bird Park has done an incredible job in protecting a lot of other bird species.
