Animal testing is not the only thing to look out for when buying cruelty free cosmetics and skincare products. You may think brands have to be clear about whether their products include parts of animals or their secretions, but sadly, you’d be wrong. It’s a bit of a minefield, and without some prior knowledge, it can be difficult to know what is and isn’t cruelty free. You might be surprised at how many are hiding in your everyday products from soap to shampoo. Stearic Acid, Oleic Acid, Lauric Acid, Palmitic Acid, Myristic Acid & such harmless sounding names are all obtained from animals. The only way to really be cruelty free is to switch to vegan brands!
