Until I was 24, I believed marriage was an escape, a doorway to freedom and a life that looked beautiful, the kind we grow up romanticising. Life, however, teaches in layers. Over time, I understood that freedom doesn’t come from marriage. It comes from self-respect, financial independence, knowing your values, your limits, and standing firm in who you are. Separation didn’t change what I want. it changed what I understand. Today, my life feels full on its own. Not lonely. Not incomplete. Just grounded. I also believe that companionship, when it comes, should add to that fullness. not fill a gap, not fix a wound, but walk alongside strength. Before starting something new, there are wounds that need healing, wounds a new partner didn’t create and shouldn’t have to carry. That, too, is a responsibility. Years later, I’ve realised one simple truth. nothing meaningful comes easy and that’s okay. I’m not waiting to be completed. I’m choosing to move forward with awareness. {thought for the day , marriage , relationship , efforts , life , life lesson}
