
The Kailas Temple at Ellora, Maharashtra is the largest monolithic rock-cut monument in the world. The temple is 32 metres high and 78 metres long. . It was carved from top to bottom with no high-tech machinery but with just chisel and hammer. . Around 2 lakh tonnes of stone was carved out but none of them was found anywhere near to the temple. .
