1. Don't bring too many toiletries, ideally you need: Head to toe wash, handwash, soap, sunscreen, aloe vera gel (for sunburns), Oil [Everything should be unscented else you won't be able to use it in state of Ihraam] 2. Don't carry too many footwears. You need 2 durable & comfortable slippers, 1 pair of shoes, and 1 pair of sandals (ideally should be quick-dry) Avoid heels, avoid anything that's too tight or too loose. For men, ankles should not be covered. 3. Carry thick socks, the ones with rubber sole or grip socks. The floor is very slippery, lots of people will be stepping on your feet so thick socks will come in very handy. Carry at least 5-6 pairs. 4. Cooling towel is a life-saver! Initially I thought I was wasting too much money on it but it is worth every penny. 5. If travelling in a group, make sure you all get matching, bright colored Scarves or Abayas or backpacks or anything that can be recognised from a distance, it might look funny but it will save you from getting lost in the crowd, by crowd I mean around 3 million people! (Avoid common colors like White, black etc) 6. Bring abayas that are at least 2 inches (or more) above your ankles. Get the hem folded or use Fabric Tape and fold it yourself. Long abayas might look aesthetic but once you are in Haram, it can be the reason for nasty accidents. 7. Best material for Abayas- Cey Premium, Rayon, Viscose Rayon, Hosiery or Jersey. Tip is to look for abayas that don't look shiny, cause if they do then chances are it has synthetic fabric. 8. Heat is unbearable, the temperature can be as high as 48°C, plus you'll always be wearing Hijab, Abaya, Socks etc so go for clothes that you have already used and you know How they feel. 9. Carry a sling bag, 1 sturdy backpack, multiple drawstring bags. But always ensure that your bag is Never heavy, while walking in heat, even one lip balm feels like a dumbell! 10. Carry Lots of trash bags (you'll be needing them way more than you think!)
