Have you noticed your daughter suddenly becoming more emotional lately? I started noticing this with my daughter too. • She would cry over small things • Simple comments would hurt her feelings • Some days she wanted my attention constantly • Other times she would suddenly go quiet At first, I kept thinking: “Why is she being so sensitive?” But when I started learning more about child development, I realized something important. Around age 7–9, a girl’s emotional awareness grows faster than her ability to manage those feelings. She begins noticing things she didn’t before: – friendships – social reactions – whether she fits in – how people see her So moments that seem small to us can feel very big to her. A friend ignoring her. A teacher correcting her. Even my tone when I’m busy. And I realized something as a parent… Sometimes what looks like “overreacting” is actually a child asking: “Do I matter?” “Am I safe with you?” “Do you understand me?” Now I try to remind myself: Connection first. Correction later. Instead of saying “Don’t be so sensitive.” I try to say “I can see that really hurt your feelings.” Because daughters may forget the problem… But they remember how we respond to their emotions. If you’re raising a daughter, you’re not alone in this 💛 Save this for the days parenting feels confusing. #Parenting101 #motherhood #kavyaislife #motherhoodunplugged
