In 1875, many imambaras in Patna City came together and marched with the "Alams," mourning the death of Imam Hussain. Its beauty lies in the way people of all religions come together to make this grand historic event memorable each year. Various colors play significant roles in Muharram. Black symbolizes mourning and grief, reflecting the sorrow over the tragic events of Karbala. In Taziah, green is used for Imam Hassan and red for Imam Hussain. In northern India, white is more prominent due to local influence, but in southern India, black becomes more prominent.
