2025 was the year I finally started healing from my acne. And no, it wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t aesthetic. It wasn’t one of those overnight glow-ups. It was messy. I had days where I felt hopeful… and days where I felt completely defeated. I cried more times than I can count. I laughed too, sometimes out of pure exhaustion. I tried everything. And when nothing worked, I felt tired of even trying. There were moments I genuinely thought, maybe this is just how my skin will always be. But I waited. I stayed patient when I wanted to give up. I prayed when I didn’t have answers. I wished. I changed my lifestyle. I unlearned bad habits. I learned how to be gentler with my body and my mind. My skin didn’t change overnight. It took nine years of struggle, trial and heartbreak to reach where I am today. And even now, I still have bad days. Days when my texture looks louder. When my acne scars feel impossible to ignore. Days when I stand in front of the mirror and cry. Or turn my face into my pillow and let it out quietly. But the difference now? I don’t hate myself through it anymore. Healing didn’t make my skin perfect. It made me stronger. And if you’re still in the middle of your journey, feeling stuck, tired, or hopeless… Please know this - *Slow healing is still healing.
